Our Beloved Guruji

Sri Varahi Amman Temple was founded by His Holiness Guruji Sri Varahi Balamurugan, a great and dedicated Upasakar of Goddess Sri Maha Varahi, one of the Sapthakanyas.

The powerful Goddess Varahi is the Devasenapathi, or the general of the army of Goddess RajaRajeswari. Swamiji, originally a lawyer, was involved in the education and transport sectors. From childhood, Swamiji was a devotee of Lord Murugan. Gradually, his devotion shifted towards Sakthi Upasana.

  • Swamiji sought initiation and had the opportunity to meet the great Guruji Sri La Sri Kamatchi Dasar Swamiji from Avinashi. With his guidance and blessings, he learned Shri Varahi Upasana. Subsequently, Guruji granted him the Shri Maha Varahi initiation.
  • After receiving the initiation, Swamiji decided to build a temple for Sri Maha Varahi in Jamunamathur Forest to offer prayers for all.
  • According to tradition, Sri Maha Varahi is placed facing north, surrounded by a river and mountain. The main deity of the temple, Annai Varahi, was established as a separate Varahi temple in Jamunamathur Forest, Polur, in 2016, following the Agama Vidhis and construction of a Maha Meru (made of stone) in front.
  • Since receiving the initiation, Swamiji has performed various rituals, including Varahi Pooja and Homam.
